They say the past is a foreign country. For me, it’s a well-worn path I’ve been walking since 1999 when the internet was young, and so was my obsession with ancestry.

I began with my own story. A tangle of names, whispers, and half-told tales led me to scroll after scroll, record after record, until the people in those dusty files began to feel like family. And then they were.

I had cracked my first brick wall—and I was hooked.

That spark grew into a full-blown, life-long passion. Over the past two decades, I’ve researched not just my own tree, but many others. I’ve wandered through thousands of digitised documents, across countries and centuries, guided by curiosity and caffeine. I don’t stop at the surface—I will, quite literally, search through 900 pages to find the one.

This isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s a calling. A joy. A thrill. It’s storytelling, detective work, and time travel all rolled into one.

I’ve earned a diploma in genealogy and completed advanced research training—but it’s the heart I bring to this work that makes it different. Every tree I build, I build with care. Every story I uncover, I treat like a treasure.
